At approximately 13:19 UTC on 21 June 2026, a Product Tanker operating approximately 50NM southeast of Al-Shihr, Yemen, reported being approached by a skiff carrying five armed individuals who appeared to be attempting to board the vessel.

In response, the vessel conducted evasive manoeuvres and altered course away from the approaching skiff. The skiff subsequently disengaged, and the vessel continued its voyage. The vessel and crew were reported safe.

The incident is not currently considered piracy-related. Operation ATALANTA is investigating the incident. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain vigilance, adhere to Best Management Practices for the Maritime Security (BMP-MS) guidelines, and report any suspicious activity or relevant information to the appropriate maritime authorities, including UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
