Hijacking - Gulf of Oman

Description

A vessel was boarded by unauthorized personnel while anchored approximately 38NM northeast of Fujairah, UAE. The vessel was subsequently seized by the unauthorized personnel and is reportedly heading towards Iranian territorial waters. The incident was reported by the vessel's Company Security Officer.

This incident represents a significant escalation in maritime security threats. The fact that the vessel was targeted while anchored indicates the attackers had advance knowledge of the vessel's position and operational status.
